Just heard this new band, reminded me alot of the floyd. Great Songs, but I guess it was the lyrics that kept me engaged. www.8-box.com  I haven't heard alot that has stuck with me lately but I really was impressed by these guys. Interested in anyone else's opinion.

It reminded me of Mike and the Mechanics, not really a big fan of them so this did not do it for me, sorry. Found the music a little 'wishy washy', overly processed with too much synthesiser and use of effects.

Thanks for sharing however, at least I now know who 8 Box are.

In light of Nicks post, this is a pretty underhand way of trying to promote a band. Just join the forum, say who you are and ask for constructive comments and you will get honest replies. I echo Nicks thoughts and 8 Box is now binned as far as I am concerned. If anybody asks for an opinion on them in future (which I doubt), it won't be positive.

Same as GG says it does seem very over processed, with keyboards and drums being way too loud in the mix. Ive noticed this problem with other artists, they produce music that becomes a complete jumble because of over mixing and having everything mixed at top volume, you lose definition in the music.

It would probably grow on me, but for now I will give it a miss.

Well you asked for our opinions, so here is mine. It hacks me off in the extreme when members of bands post on other peoples forums claiming to have "just heard this new band". It is the most dishonest form of self-promotion.

I see you've tried this on several other forums too, including this post on beatking.com:

"I was wondering if any has heard of the band 8 Box, I heard a song called even or odd, loved it but I don't know much about the band."

All you had to do was be honest about who you are and you would have received a warm welcome and peoples' best wishes for your band. As it is, I suspect this topic isn't going to have much else good to say about 8 Box and the tactics of its members.

Honesty ? Thats something that belongs in the past, regretably.
            Selling/making money out of music these days is about being dishonest and conning your public in order to get them to part with their cash.
                  Over hyped trash it would seem holds sway over good quality music that used so sell its self on merit.
        If you are pushing an inferior product it may be necessary to manipulate the truth in order to be noticed ? ???
