We tried to get tickets for the AC DC gig at the NEC today and what a total waste of time.

Tickets went on sale at 10am,so we rang up the NEC at dead on 10 only to find that tickets were not on sale yet, so rang again at 10.01 and got an engaged tone, set set the phone to auto redial and no luck for 2 hours > >

Went over to ticket-bastard and they redirect you to other sites that have tickets at £165(face value £40 each) a pair, what has the world come to when true fans just cannot get hold of tickets anymore, unless you pay stupid amounts for them, Ill bet the corporate idiots have all got their tickets, even if most of them don't even want them and will probably sell them on E-Bay at even more inflated prices. >

I was really looking forward to seeing AC/DC, and will live in the hope that they will announce more UK dates.

UPDATE, standing tickets now selling for £285 EACH, bloody ridiculous, isn't about time that authorities caught up with these rip off merchants, there no better than glorified ticket touts, another thing is you could only buy 2 tickets per person, so how have these robbing bastards got hold of so many tickets??

Same stuff here in the Netherlands, AC/DC is coming in March in Ahoy Rotterdam. Tickets (only 2 per transaction) got on sale this Saturday at 10am, but only through ticketbasterd. So what happened when you hit ticketmaster at 10am? You'll be put on queue, even though you haven't hit the button "AC/DC". When you finally got into the second queue, there was a status bar, which got back to the beginning when you reached 60%. So total crap.

Luckily we did have 6 computers available, so in the end we had 10 tickets. Tickets were 60 euros each and an extra service charge of 6,90 PER TICKET. Absolutely ridiculous!

I think ticketbasterd acts the same all over the world.

Rik, it wasn't just ticket bastard, we rang the NEC's(or LG arena as it's known now)  box office FIRST(The Ticket Factory) at dead on 10am , Friday, when tickets went on sale, stood no chance even trying to get in early, constant engaged tone.....

There's a pair of tickets on E-Bay for the Dublin show, last time I checked they were £1220 for the pair , this really shocks and disgusts me. >

The shows are NOT sold out, you can still get tickets through the ticket touts (on line agencies) if you have cash to burn and no thought for real fans, that are not willing to pay over the odds. It is printed on the back of ALL tickets that they should not be sold above face value, this just has to stop, so why don't the venues put a stop to this?? How can a concert 'sell out' in a matter of minutes when you are restricted to only 2 tickets per person, the box offices would need an awful lot of manned phones to sell out so quickly, I think something more is going on here, the agencies get there cut BEFORE Joe public get the chance to buy(Guaranteed sales for the venue??), then there so little tickets, at face value , left that it becomes a brawl, hours waiting on phones and on line sites crashing.  > >

You can probably tell I'm still a little pissed about this and hope that the same thing does not happen when it come to the Aussie next UK tour
