Martha Wainwright - Portsmouth Pyramids

I went to see Martha Wainwright last Saturday and this was the best performance I have seen from her so far, she just gets better every-time. However, the big surprise was the support act, Angus & Julia Stone who are a brother and sister act from Australia. I don't normally bother with the supports, but as this was a standing gig I arrived early, so I could get a good spot (front row 3 ft from Martha  ;D). They were excellent and Julia during the show played acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keyboards and a trumpet! A very talented lady, with a captivating voice and stage presence. I enjoyed them so much I bought their album and I can thoroughly recommend them if they are ever near you.

Angus & Julia Stone - Wasted:

Martha did a great set and 'See Emily Play' was brilliant. She even came out after the show, signed autographs and chatted to the fans - what a great lady. She's on tour until early November, PinkFossil has been on my recommend and I think he enjoyed her - definitely worth a look if near you?

Ah yes, Martha. Thouroughly enjoyed her show at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester last year, cheers Tim. Unfortunately she favours Liverpool to Manchester this time round. The Philharmonic is a beautiful theatre but the seating is impossibly cramped. I was there two years ago and came away with bruised knees. I may just give them a call tomorrow and see if they have any seats with extra leg room.
Are we nearly there yet?
