I went to see Fish last night at the Brindley in Runcorn for the first time since the mid 90's and HC was right, he puts on a great show. From the intro to the encore, Fish was bouncing all over the stage, jumping on ond off with the energy of a 20 year old. Great performance from the band, especially Frank Usher on guitar, with some truly amazing guitar solo's during Cliche and Last Straw. During song introductions, Fish stopped a few times to pose with crowd members for photo's, commenting that you wouldn't get that at a Bon Jovi concert. Nice to see he's not lost his sense of humour. I half expected a fading performer to put on a half arsed "I'm only here for the money" show, but I was so wrong. The venue is relatively small, 420 capacity, with a no drinks in the theatre policy. Unfortunately, you got the usual smugglers who were found out by the security. Overall a fantastic night, great set list including these - in no particular order :
