Just read that Mitch Mitchell has died while on tour in the US. Very sad, that's the whole Experience playing celestial gigs now.

What a fantastic drummer he was. I love The Experience.

His drumming on the alt take of Spanish Castle Magic on 'Voodoo Child: The Jimi Hendrix Collection' is jaw dropping. You always have to feel sorry for anyone who ever played with Hendrix, they would always be in his shadow, but then again, I'm sure most preffered it that way.

I read that too.  How very sad that all three of the Experience are now laid to rest 

I got to see Mitch play a tribute to Jimi with Slash and Billy Cox (Band of Gypsies) at the Ali Pali a few  years back.  Mitch had lost none of his talent and his wonderful style still shone through.

Hope Mitch, Jimi and Noel are jamming on a cloud somewhere now.
