Just back from seeing Metallica,Machine Head and The Sword and it was stunning. Certainly the best live show i've seen.

So first of all The Sword. A band i've never really listened to but i was quite impressed. They have the sound of Black Sabbath at times and although it was a short 30 min set there were a worthwhile watch.

Next up Machine Head. There was a large majority of Machine Head fans to see them and they didn't disappoint. From Clenching The Fists Of Dissent to Davidian they were loud and very very heavy. Rob Flynn really knows how to get a crowd going so Machine Head had warmed the crowd nicely for the main event.

So Metallica then. Well they certainly haven't lost their touch and they were brilliant. Hetfield,Hammett,Trujillo and Ulrich were on top form especially James with his crowd interaction.

So overall a great night of heavy metal and well worth catching,

The Metallica setlist from tonight:

That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Of Wolf And Man
One
Broken,Beat And Scarred
My Apocalypse
Sad But True
Turn The Page(Bob Seger Cover)
All Nightmare Long
The Day That Never Comes
Master Of Puppets
Fight Fire With Fire
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman

Encore:
Die,Die My Darling(Misfits Cover)
Trapped Under Ice(James introduced it as "something special")
Seek And Destroy
I love Aussie Floyd. Simple as that lol.

Ive still got two spare tickets to see Metallica in Nottingham on 25th February 2009.
From here on in I'm going to cry everytime I read a review of one of their gigs.
