(I guess you already know this now Sue?)
I'm dumbstruck and lost for words ...... truly outstanding and I think I'm in love with Dave Grohl! I've seen some rock bands in my time, but these guys together are pure class, that was a kick ass gig....
They came on at 9.00 and played the whole album with no encore, so with a few musical interludes and anecdotes from Josh Homme, we got around 100 mins of mastery - the atmosphere was indescribable, the crowd clearly knew this was something extraordinary and I was grinning like a Cheshire cat all night.
What strikes you most about them live is the sheer professionalism, 3 guys at the top of their game, who were also very clearly loving every minute. It appeared relaxed and effortless on their part, a bit like being at a rather special party that everybody wanted to be at. It was all superb, but 'Gunman' deserves special mention, with the lights and mood really enhancing the powerful beat of this song.
Quote of the night came from Joshua whilst drinking from a bottle of clear liquid and somebody asked what it was - JH replied
"Vodka motherfucker, what do you think it is.... this is serious!" Lol, TCV .... totally brilliant
I hope this isn't a one off? But from seeing the big grins on all their faces I somewhat doubt it - circumstances around them may hamper it, but they look like they were made for each other on stage. IMO the best live rock act on the circuit at the moment. Even if you don't like the album, you couldn't fail to be impressed by the quality and energy of their live performance. I saw the BBC Reading recording, but last night knocked that into a cocked hat, far more polished and the best 30.00 ticket of this year (yep, only 30 quid

) I also saw Paul Weller at the same venue on Tuesday, that gig pails into insignificance compared to these guys.
Here are a few other opinions:
"I want to post something, but I don't know what to say. All I can think is wow, wow, wow. . Great review, yeah.
They have amazing chemistry musically, and you can tell they really like each other. Everyone goes on about Dave and JPJ and their chemistry, but JPJ and Josh have it in spades too. Like Warsaw? Epically awesome! And JPJ had a little smirky laugh at every single instance of Josh's rock and roll posturing. Josh is so predictable"
"I was front row on the left and by oh boy what a night!!!!!!
Have pics but ended up just being too busy watching them. I'm also lost for words as to how to describe it.............all I will say is those who are still to see them be prepared to go on the ride of your lives!!!"
"THAT WAS F*****G EPIC.
One of the best gigs of my life...
Such incredible chemistry. Insane tightness...
It was all I hoped it could be and more.
Roll on next Thursday!
I cant wait!"
"F*****g unbelievable last night - the venue was awesome, the crowd was awesome but seriously this band is just way too good. So tight now in comparison to Reading Fest (although that was epic also) it is good to see them after quite a few shows now.
All topped off by the fact I got one of Grohls drumsticks at the end - a tech came over and chucked out like 12, I have never seen so many people scramble at once with pure desperation and determination in their eyes haha"
