One of the best heavy metal vocalists ever. RIP Ronnie.

Very sad! I agree Chas, Rainbow In The Dark is one of my top favourite songs ever. RIP RJD.  :'(

This one hits really close to home for me. RJD was born and raised in a small town about 30 minutes from me. He honed his skills in bar bands throughout the area. He's much loved and revered in these parts as not only a fabulous vocalist, but as one of the genuinely good guys in the business. R.I.P. Ronnie, it's been a long road from "Elf".

According to the BBC entertainment page, RJD died on Sunday and Monday. Way to go, Ronnie, rock and roll.

Its a shame he's no longer with us  but there aren't really that many heavy rockers that last up to the age of 67 ? So in the scheme of things Ronnie did rather well.
    Its taken his unfortunate demise for me to learn that RJD was originally named Ronald Padavona. May he Rest In Peace.
