TOPIC: Spirit of Pink Floyd?

Spirit of Pink Floyd? 3 years, 3 months ago #1

They sure seeem to be coming Thick and fast!, anyone have any knowledge on these guys, I have just had notification of them playing in Torquay this november!
according to the website they have some major gigs going on incuding in Japan, so I am thinking they may be something worth checking out in this very lovely but musically challenged part of the country.

Its "OFF THE WALL" the only difference being the keyboard player from "THINK FLOYD" has joined them. And they may have another guitarist. I hope they have dropped the sax solo's where there shouldn't be any.

Hi Guys,

Just thought i would write about 'the spirit of pink floyd' as they seem to have just popped onto the scene with some big gigs.

I went to see them in Bedworth a few weeks a go and they were amazing. I'm a big fan of 'Off The Wall' and from what i  can gather from their website floydspirit.com, they are the majority of 'Off The Wall', but have replaced the keyboard/singer with a great keys player from 'Think Floyd' and a new front man/lead singer who  was amazing. Sounded very much like Gilmour!
They also have a new guitarist who has replaced 'Fluff' on the guitar. He is great too......seems like the band have got rid of some guys and replaced them with a new and exiting line up, complete with a great lighting show and stage choreography. What  a show it is now....completely blows 'Off The Wall' out of the water. They have a new fan in me!
I too love the Aussies , but these guys are a completely different show. For me, if i want to hear the PF music played exactly as the record with an amazing light show i will definitely see the Aussies, but if i'm in the mood to be entertained and want to see an exiting show recreating the music of PF then i'll defiantly go and see 'The Spirit of Pink Floyd' (www.floydspirit.com).

Well worth  a watch=, even if your skeptical of anyone other that the Aussies!!! Give them a go..... i did and wasn't disappointed!

Indeed, They did the rounds trying to find a replacement for the guitarist a few month back, under the guise of a dep for the USA leg of thr tour, I was asked but politely declined, I did suggest a friend who auditioned but sadly had a heart attack and died
It seems if you can get someone to put up the cash, you can play where you like. I like to see a light show, but if its not cutting the mustard musically, then no thanks.
