CMP's Pink Floyd Tribute Tour Goes British from 2011 1 year, 9 months ago #1

A press release from CMP today:

CMP Entertainment's annually promoted Pink Floyd tribute tour will feature 'The British Pink Floyd Show' rather than 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show' from 2011.

Chas Cole, CMP's promoter said, "In recent years TAPFS tours have featured primarily British musicians and its come to the point where a British show is more appropriate. CMP doesn't want to stretch the goodwill of Pink Floyd or the fans and therefore, now is a good time to change."

Everything else about this new 'BritFloyd' tour will remain unchanged. Including the quality of the sound, lights and animation.

Randy Salcedo, from CAA in Los Angeles, is the world wide agent for 'The British Pink Floyd Show'.

CMP have produced over 1,000 Pink Floyd tribute shows over the past 15 years including dates in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Malta and Israel.

The April / May and summer 2011 tour dates follow below. The European tour will be announced soon.

A bit more from Chas:

CMP Entertainment,  the world-wide producer of 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show' for the past 15 years, has terminated its licenses with the directors of the shows two trading companies.

CMP will now launch a new Pink Floyd project in the new year, titled 'The British Pink Floyd Show' to include the majority of the musicians and road crew from TAPFS.

The worldwide booking agent will be Randy Salcedo at CAA in Los Angeles.

The concerts agreed by CMP before the termination, including Hamburg, USA, Canada & Mexico will be completed as 'The Australian Pink Floyd Show'.

Chas Cole from CMP Entertainment said, " All things come to an end, and TAPFS in its current incarnation will do that after the upcoming November shows. We've done some great things together and I wish the directors well. But, I'm really excited about our new Pink Floyd project. We are going to build and produce an even bigger and better concert experience."

So, why 'The British Pink Floyd Show'?

"Well Pink Floyd are British obviously and all but one of the musicians performing in the show are British so it seems to makes sense. The most important thing, for everyone involved, is to respect and protect the Pink Floyd legacy, and 'The British Pink Floyd Show' will do that in a very British way!"

The end of Aussie Floyd!
  Such a disappointing announcement.
So what of Steve, Colin and Jason. Three talented gentlemen whose work I really enjoy ?

Not at all. Aussie Floyd is to continue under new management, with Steve, Colin and Jason at the helm.

Well well well.....  :-\

I'm surprised and speechless.

I've seen the NA line up with no Aussies, and of course, it's a great show.

I was looking forward to the show moving towards a few stadium sized venues too. This does not look like it's going to happen now. Just my opinion mind you.
