OK, this is TBPFS section of the forum, but I think many of TACRS members are the same as TBPFS (rather than TAPFS) so this seemed a reasonable place to drop this. You keeping up?
Why post here at all though? Because you just might like to hear about it, and they do play a couple of Floyd tracks in the show so theres a tenuous link there.
The name is bizarre given the split of TAPFS into two with TBPFS taking an Aussie title for its Classic Rock Show. But forget all that, its all about the music right?
Which is where TACRS really shines. Take a dozen or more classic groups, 2, 3 or 4 of their most classic tracks and string them togther for 2.5 hours. Oh, and get some of the best rock musicians on the planet to play them.
The clarity and faithfullness of style to the originals was stunning (period). But when you add they have mimicked the style and sound of several of the worlds greatest bands, words are not enough - just get to see them.
They were almost clinical in their precision - it was almost like a rock recital which might not suit some I suppose, but I love that. Not to say they were dull - their rendition of The Who was better than the real thing live (the only one I can compare).
They've not sold too well and I just hope they are back next year - there are still some venues left and I advise you to go!
