After a few recommendations I decided to take a look at Think Floyd in Birkenhead, as it's not too far from me. I wasn't dissapointed, and I would certainly recommend going to see them if they're near you at all soon. Firstly, the venue was an arts centre, quite small with a capacity of around 500, and I'd guess that a crowd of around 200+. turned up to watch. It was cold, and it was like an old industrial unit with a stage & bar opposite one another.
Onto the band.......Excellent musicians, virtualy spot on, musically, they were perfect, vocally, they're not sound alikes, although you wouldn't expect that. All four band members take turns in having a go at the vocals. I'd say the guitarist was a better singer than the bass player, who did most of the vocals. There were a couple of minor mistakes in the guitar and keyoard solos as they were played at a higher tempo than the rest of the song, although it was corrected very quickly. This in no way detracted from the performance as it was a very enjoyable night. The backing singer was fantastic - and gorgeous - and her rendition of Great Gig was met with huge cheers & applause. As there were only the four musicians on stage, any 2nd guitar parts & sax were played by the keyboard player, and to be honest, you didn't notice, he was that good.
