Think Floyd - Crawley - 11th April 2007 5 years, 1 month ago #1

Last night I went to see Think Floyd at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley, I'd seen them a couple of times before and always rated them quite highly but last night totally blew me away!

The 6 or 7 hundread seater theatre was full (apart from the odd seat at the side) but everyone was totally into the great music being played to perfection by the 4 members of Think Floyd.

The poster info stated they would be playing Dark Side Of the Moon & Wish You Were Here - my 2 favourite albums!  The show opened with Shine On, then into Take It Back, In the Flesh, Astronomy and the rest of WYWH - a great version of Welcome to The Machine I must add & then the 1st half ended with Sheep.

The 2nd half kicked off with the whole off Dark Side - and Wow, Its was awesome, their lovely singer Hayley Sanderson  would give Sam Brown a run for her money any day on Great gig and then straight afetr it she came back on with the Sax for money!  After 45 mins of Dark Side they finished the show with Coming Back to Life, Run Like Hell, Comfortably Numb and Summer 68 (from Atom Heart mother) I've never really listened to that trcak but I will now, it worked really well live and loooking through the bands Forum it seems they regulalrly slip one of the more obscure tracks in like SanTropez, Paintbox etc.

The music was well copmplimented by a great llighting show and for 2 & a half hours I was in pure Floyd heaven and it was amazing to see suck a great show in a pplace like Crawley on a wednesday night in April.

I'm not going to compare Think Floyd with the Aussie's because they're completely different & on a different scale as far as the porduction is concerned, but musically they do a fantastic job - especially considering there's only 4 of them!

I would deffinately recommend these guys and for ?16.50 it was great value for money.

Shine on!!!

Nice review Floyd, I had the pleasure of seeing TF last year and they played a fairly similar set, albeit in a different order.

I might sound controversial here but I didn't think Sam Brown was all that good with Great Gig, although I've only got the Pulse DVD so go by. I thought Haley did a much better job as do Ola and the girls from the Aussies.

Hi, yeah I agree, I don't rate the Pulse version of Great Gig that much but its seems that alot of Floyd fans think of Sam Brown as the Great gig vocalist & dont know Claire Torri (dunno how its spelt) - but yeah I think Hayley Sanderson is great, been reading up about her and it seems she was the voice of the 'Talk Talk' TV ads singing 'Something In The Air' that was on the TV & radio lots last summer - what a small world!
