Let me preface this post by stating that it is a dammed stinking shame that my wedding anniversary does not coincide with TAPFS UK touring season.

My 1st wedding anniversary is next month, and I'm thinking about taking the Mrs to London for a short holiday.  Sure it may seem like a dangerous time, but air ticket prices might very well become a bargain.  :

I'm looking for some expert local knowledge on good (and reasonably inexpensive) places to stay in London... near the touristy things (museums, palaces, etc.), along with any other valuable info on London that one might be able to provide a first-time visitor like me!

Yes you need help with this because inexpensive and London don't really fit in the same sentence unless you have an insider helping you!.
