Sky are reporting his condition as stable, which is better news.

hope richard gets better soon! he's certainly an irreplaceable presenter on top gear (one of mine and kieran's fave programmes)

Radio 2 has just reported on the 9 o'clock news that Richard is in a 'serious but stable condition' but has shown some response to treatment. I saw this story last night on breaking news and to be honest, I thought I would wake up this morning to 'hear the worst'. I'm very pleased that isn't the case and I wish him and his family well for a full recovery.

i heard that on the news last night, a 280mph crash in some dragster for top gear. I dont care what anyone says but we need that guy on TV! Top Gear couldnt be the same without him like, there would be not as much hilarity and "against Clarkson-isms" if he werent!
But on the news today it says that he is in a stable condition and that his wife his by his side as well as Big Jeremy C himself and the May man! Well not in those words but still! Dicky Hammond get well soon fella, we miss you on top gear oh and braniac!!

How can you miss him on Top Gear? New series hasn't started yet...
