I notice that a certain thread about the British v the French appears to have taken its leave of us.

Whilst I'm not bothered that it was deleted, I do find it bad form for moderators to remove posts without informing the people who posted in them, regardless of the views expressed therein.

If you think something someone has posted is unacceptable, you could actually tell us, the object ostensibly being to stop us doing it again.  Otherwise, it just comes across as rude.

Thanks.

The grumpy one.

Maybe one of those garlic-munching stripey-shirt surrender monkeys has hacked the site ?

Anyone got a drip tray to catch the irony of that post?

Having consulted with the management team, I can tell you that the thread was not removed by forum moderators. It must, therefore, have been deleted by whoever created it in the first place. Conclusions and jumping come to mind. A grovelling apology will suffice.

In that case I grovel wholeheartedly and implore you to beat me senseless as punishment.

But you can underatand how one would assume that the moderators would delete it.  I didn't realise that the person who created a thread could delete it once replies had been posted, that's all.  Some forums don't allow that.

Any forum member has the right to remove their own post if they so desire.
If that is in fact what poodle decided to do ,then fair enough ! but to then remove posts entered by Larry and myself....even if they were tongue in cheek and a little rude is rather less than polite.
Why have a moderator if all and sundry can come along and delete what ever they like and for what ever reason ?????
