I just got an iPod. Now all my music is in iTunes, I can wander round the house listening to whatever I want, I don't have to put CDs in the car any more (I've got an FM transmitter for it) and I can play my music library on my PC and on the stereo via my Media Center. I got a new CD this morning (couldn't find it online) and apart from ripping it, I don't suppose it will ever go in a CD drive again.

2000 tracks on a thing not much bigger than a credit card. Amazing.

Listening to Deadwing on it now and it sounds fantastic.

You're absolutely right. I did the same thing earlier this year... got an MP3 player. CD's days are numbered. The iPod just celebrated its 5th birthday the other day.

I'm waiting for the day when the first FLAC players come out.

No need to wait. Just convert those pesky FLACs and SHNs to nice friendly MP3s. You'll have a host of new friends (unless you log onto Echoes Hub with them in your share).
