Well, I finally got my food shopping done last night. (at 10 pm - Sainsburys and Asda were rather quiet).
I had my iPod and noise isolation earphones to detatch me from the 'great unwashed' which made the experience all the more bearable.

drinks list :-
Leffe (blonde and Brune),
Duvel
Normandy Cider - Duche de Lon'Villie  - this, unlike many ciders, actually tastes of apples and I think it is pretty stunning.
red wine (inc a nice Burgundy to go with the turkey),
white wine
Islay malt (Laphroaig),
Armagnac,
Amontillado sherry
French stubbies the 25cl jobbies,

That should see us through till the new year  > > ;D :G

I like Hoegaarden, very tasty indeed.
There are so many interesting beers out there, but many people just stick to the boring Carling and John Smiths.

It's amazing, though, how widely the non-lager or pilsner European beers have become available over here in recent years.  Even the local biker pub around my way, a traditional bastion of John Smith's and Fosters, now offers both Leffe blond and Hoegaarden on draught.

Ever been over to Belgium and tried out the Trappist beers?

I also like Brains SA and Dark (mild), but you don't often see it in the West Midlands

That French cider they sell in Sainsbury's is worth trying.
