It's a slow day on here today ....

So anyway, you might have heard this on the news this morning, but it seems as though back in the 50s the Frogs approached the then PM Anthony Eden regarding France becoming part of the Union.

Imagine how different things could have been, thankfully we said "Non!" so they went off and formed an alliance with the Germans (not for the first time) and we now have what has become the EU.

I did indeed see this on the BBC at about 6.30 this morning.

It would never have happened - the French may be a bunch of surrender monkeys but this would have been one surrender too many.
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

Given that they executed their last queen, I don't suppose Liz was too keen on the idea.

I can't imagine anyone exactly jumping for joy the idea myself, on either side of the channel.

BUT! If we all learn to call ourselves Europeans instead of British, French, German etc etc, would it not be better than being a divided Europe?Think how strong it would be? Maybe after that we could all learn to think of ourselves as Human Beings instead of British, American, African etc inhabiting a small lump of rock that orbits a sun in a large galaxy and even bigger universe. Maybe then when we all realise how small we are on the cosmic scale of things that mankind might just get along better?
Just a thought for the day......
