It's just taken me 4 hours to get from London to Derby on the train. A colleague who was trying to get to Leeds sat on his train for 3 hours then it went back to London.

Plenty of trees down round here in Nottingham, we've had a few tiles come off our roof , but at least we're OK. Its the people who have been killed and injured that I feel for

I managed to get back to London with only about half an hour's delay in the end.

I think I got off lightly.
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

I got home this evening to find my house appeared to be unscathed other than a pair of net curtains that had been sucked right out through the slightly open window. I've still not found them.
Are we nearly there yet?

It was dustbin day today and my wheely bin has literally gone with the wind... there's no sign of it anywhere in the neighbourhood!  I'll have to phone the council and get another one... unless someone sees a green wheely with "49" painted on the side flying past, in which case do shoot it down and let me know.

Otherwise, local public transport is completely disrupted and large sections of town have been cordoned off by the police.  So it's business as usual around here.
