OK, so it's 135 days to go before the ban kicks in.

Who thinks it's a great idea and who doesn't?
Hello and thanks for having me.

Great idea, can't stand the filthy habbit.
Ok. it brings in tax revenue, and pubs are likely to feel the impact etc, but I'm looking forward to going home after an evening out without my clothes stinking of smoke.

Is fine at home, as long as the smoker does not have any kids i the house, is not pregnant etc.  On top of that, I think it is a complete waste of money, but it is up to the individual as to how they spend their cash.

Costs a fortune, makes you smell horrible, incredibly anti-social, and kills you.

Why do so many young women smoke ? These ladies spend a fortune on make-up and on following fashion then they set out deliberately to make themselves stink ?
Sorry but they all must be educationally sub normal.
Its a filthy habit. Ban it now.

Why does anyone smoke?

The answer is peer pressure.  There are certainly no health or financial benefits, and I don't for one second believe people start to relieve stress - if anything, it puts stress on your heart!  If your friends smoke, then so will you if you are young enough to be insecure amongst them if you feel like the odd one out.

From there it steamrollers and you just can't stop.  You stick with the same friends, or fall in with another group who smoke, so you have no reason to stop.

What annoys me are people who say "I can't give up - I need to smoke".  It's simply a mild form of drug addiction.
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

I don't have a problem with people smoking, however what gets me are the ones who are so worried about bird flu, crashing their car, catching a disease, the Americans starting WW3, any health scare whatsoever that the TV news always over-sensationalise....and then they smoke! Far more of a chance of being finished off by that.
