Watching "Most Haunted" on UK FTN digital TV, and what a load of cobblers this is IMHO, the guy called Derek (the effeminate one) always seems to get possessed by ghosts of terrible actors, funny that  :G

This show reminds me of how we used to mess around as kids and try and scare each other, did one ouija board session that never amounted to anything.

I've still got a healthy respect for the unknown though, but trailer trash TV like that is just a joke ... IMHO.

Discuss.

hello colin, im sorry to say about ghosts i dont believe. I am a forensic psychologist, i learn of loads of psychological aspects also in relations to real life experiences. Yes im a student and your probably thinking why is this 19 year old kid telling me but hey haha!
Anyways the whole thesis of the paranormal i feel can be explained in aspects of logic.
Have you noticed the way why derek acorah always says do you feel that or do you hear that? In the aspect of darkness, other sense become heightened to a point in which psychosomatic incidences occur. As in you believe you cn hear things etc. And derek acorah is the medium to put foreign ideas in to the head of these people. In which the latent content (saying there is a ghost there you see it or somthing on those lines) suppresses on the people who are in the room with him. This in turn psychodynamically represses on to the id (the very rational part of the brain) in which this picks up heightened senses in a very radical form which people convice themselves whatever happening is real.
If Derek Acorah could speak to spirits why cant he talk to god (if there is one) and ask what humans were put on this earth for?

Im sorry if i put people down here, but he is a phoney and yes hes earning money from exploiting an idea that doesnt have any empirical support.

Hi, I'm very much a sceptic too, that Derek guys is definitely a fraud ... IMHO ) But I'd like to hear from people who think otherwise.

There have been perhaps a couple of incidence's in my life that i could attribute to something else, but in hindsight, both of those incidents were most likely pure coincidence.  I'll describe them if anyone wants.

You seem very switched on, I'll certainly not put you down my friend.

Well I'm interested in coincidences having experiencing some extraordinary ones over the years so go ahead Colin and describe them. By the way, I see my experiences as nothing more than coincidence even though I find them hard to explain..

thanks colin. Im just against things like that as Im a HUGE logician, some of my idols were pioneers of logic such as Einstein and Bowlby.

Phil well is there any incidences you can share that we may can explain? but the thing about this people is the content that people give may be either exaggerated to be extraordinary or dumbed down to seem more ordinaty (As psychologists perception bias is a huge factor you see, nothing against anyone if you think im having a go phil ;D)
