What was or would be your perfect day?

Now as this got lost in the ether - I thought it may be worth resurrecting, as it had the potential of becoming an interesting topic?

My perfect day was the final morning of the Inca Trail and arriving at the sungate of Machu Picchu, to watch the sunrise. I then spent the rest of the day there together and 6 hours the next day. The site gets busy a.m. with all the people who arrive on the train from Cusco, but they have to leave after lunch and the site gets quiet (anyone going there try to stay for 2 days, it's worth it - you can then climb Huayna Picchu, which towers above the ruins). I stayed and sat for hours watching the landscape change colour and then the mists rolled in at sunset. The most amazing experience of my life, which I doubt will ever be surpassed. I was totally mesmerised by the awesome beauty - it's breathtaking and one of life's great mysteries - how on earth did the Incas manage such a feat?

If it's at all possible and you only do one adventurous thing in you life, I cannot recommend the Inca Trail enough - it's a life changing experience.

I  took hundreds of photographs that day, here's one for a taster. . .

PS. Diane - you have to come up with something better than a day in Marks & Spencer this time  :-\

My first dive at Sipadan, one of the top 5 dive destinations in the world. Even though you know it?s going to be special, nothing prepares you for the sheer vastness of the 2000 metre drop off. There are so many barracuda they block the light out, scores of reef sharks, hammerhead sharks, turtles munching away on the coral, massive bumphead parrotfish and just about every other big fish you could ever encounter.

I don?t suppose anything will ever equal it.

That sounds awesome!

After reading about Fossil's day and how good it was got me thinking about what makes (or made) a perfect day for anybody else.

Mine was many years ago on holiday in Scotland and all it consisted of was me sitting on a deserted beach on a sunny summer's day, just listening to the tide rolling in and out and watching the sun go down. Nothing very spectacular but SO peaceful.
