Back in March I applied for a new job. The deadline for applications passed and nothing more was heard and so I assumed I had been unsuccessful.
Well yesterday I received a large A4 envelope franked with the name of the company containing a letter inviting me to attend a selection process day on July the 10th. I wasn't at all surprised at how long it had taken them to get back to me as this company operate in an industry where companies are known for their slowness in sorting job applications, usually due to high demand and low standard of candidates.
I have to be in south Wales at 10am and I live in London. Looks like I'll be staying at Lorna's the night before then, although I have been sent a complimentary train ticket to get me from Paddington to Newport and back.
The company is a large, well-known (and well-criticised) one. Can you guess who it is and what the job is?
(The job is based in London and not Wales, but that's where the assessment centre is).
