I've been ripped off AGAIN............. > >

DON'T USE THIS WEB SITE ---- DIGITAL SOUND DIRECT. The web site is very good and looks genuine. Lots of very good deals, mainly sat nav and car audio, at keen prices.

I placed an order with this bunch of comedians 7 weeks ago(27th June) and have not received a bean yet. My order was for a car audio amplifier that was supposedly in stock all ?165 worth, ?230 on other sites.  Their phone line is dead , they don't respond to E-Mails and they took money last week for an item I have not received.

I have contacted my card issuer and they are sending me a dispute form.

How do these companies manage to get away with it???

I must admit it looks to be a genuine site. My only concern if I was going to use it would be the fact that they only gave a phone & fax number as a 'contact us' but no address. I tried the phone number myself & it was not recognised. I think your only hope at this stage is the fact that you ordered it 7 weeks ago but they only debited your account last week so there is a chance it's on its way. Good luck.
Are we nearly there yet?

They should also be showing a VAT number somewhere, as there is VAT on electrical goods.

I paid an extra ?10 for next day delivery , so I would assume that the item should be in my possession now.

Larry, your right they should have a VAT number somewhere, maybe thats why the good seem so cheap??

Going to fill in the dispute form when it arrives as I have an awful feeling that this item is never going to turn up. I've been on talk audio forums and it would seem that this company has been playing these games for some time now >  Theres even mention that they have gone bust ???

Try reporting them to your local council trading standards department.

Well they aren't registered limited at Companies House so they're probably operating as sole trader status.
