Silly isn't it. I live about 30ish miles away from Cheddar and have never been inside.
I've driven through the town plenty of times but have never taken the time to stop and see it's wonders.

I haven't been to Cheddar since I was about 12 or 13.
  Thanks for the info Mike,I had imagined that it would have been made tacky and nasty by now as well as  being overpriced ??

Great pictures Mike, thank you. I went to the caverns at the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath recently, where miners used to work every day extracting mineral ore in the most horrendous conditions. It was very similar to your photos.
