A good day Thursday, at the Hamilton's place in Hertfordshire for several hours before Lewis went off to his pad in Switzerland for Christmas. Non stop signing for Lewis all day, our prints, his books etc etc. Lots of demands on him from the sponsors these past few weeks as he has been the only McLaren driver, doing all of the appearances, normally a job shared. I've known the the whole family a while now, still very down to earth, feet on the ground despite the rollercoaster year and paparazzi permanently parked outside. Dinner too included, TV dinner on your lap watching Eastenders (mainly because my prints were piled up on the table!) - everyday normal people despite the huge success and enormous wealth coming in.

It normally takes an army to manage a superstar as popular as Lewis. When I did stuff for Senna his management company had 5 staff just looking after Ayrton's programme. Lewis' Dad Anthony is his manager and does everything single handed, an awesome task with everyone wanting a piece of Lewis Hamilton!

Fantastic stuff again - nice to get the human angle on people, TV dinners and eastenders no less!

I do hope the media circus does not prove too much for Lewis, last year was more than most would be able to handle. I have enormous respect for him and the support he gets from his father is truly inspirational, if only there were more parents that are such good role models?

Lewis has come in for critisism for having his book out 'My Story' so soon.
It is however a great read (so I'm told by my other half) who has already read my copy that
Lewis' step-mum Linda gave me on Thursday. I'll read it over Christmas. How he coped with
bullying at school and right up to the failure to win the F1 championship this year.

In a way it is good he has done the book, as he is only 22 and everything still fresh in his mind.
In the future as his popularity increases further there will be other books that will want to know
about his early life but it is all there available now in this book. A good earner with 200,000 already
sold!

Once again you surpass yourself Andy. We all look forward to your contributions here on this site. Great insight into the young man and how he is coping. He deserves all he gets and as Tim so rightly points out, well done to his dad for the much needed support. Thanks Andy.
