TOPIC: pinkfossil back on the scrap-heap

Well almost......
It's back to part time work for me as of tomorrow. Some of you will remember I dragged myself out of semi-retirement to accommodate a work colleague who had finished maternity leave but wanted to try part time to have more time with the new baby. The trial was to last for 6 months and then be reassessed but she is now skint and needs full time wages again so she asked me if we could swap back earlier. It has worked out very well for me as I have been able to negotiate a better area to cover and complete flexibility in the hours that I work during the week so it's back to 18 hours a week for me and a work-life balance that suits me right down to the ground. Oh and I still get to give the baddies a hard time for 3 or 4 days a week.
Are we nearly there yet?

You sound to have mixed feelings regarding going back to part time hours Phil ? Anyway I'm sure the plus-points are the reduced hours and as you point out the work-life balance !

All the best

My only mixed feelings are that it came a little sooner than I expected but no I am happy to revert back to part time. I intend to start off by working 10:00am till 2:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday but as I mentioned, I now  have complete flexibility so if I fancy an extra day off I can just take it and catch the hours up as and when I want.

Funny how "unexpected" things can happen in our careers. 10:00 to 2:30, sounds like great hours to me though.  ;D
Hanging on in quiet desperation.....
