ROBERT DUNLOP REST IN PEACE post a tribute to a real hero 4 years ago #1

Just like to say a heartfelt sorry to the family of super star a motor cycle hero Robert Dunlop
who died tragically in accident in the North west here in Ireland this week. A sad sad sad day for his family, for motorcycle sport, for THE FANS AND FOR IRELAND.

Rest in Peace Robert *brother of the late great Joey Dunlop) God bless you.

You will be missed.

Post your tribute below.

And what a fitting tribute from his son Michael, who went and won the race on Saturday.

I met Robert on a number of occasions over the years when he raced in the UK along with Joey.  They were both great sports, good laughs and gentlemen to boot

RIP Robert

I've never heard of him either so paying tribute to someone I don't know sounds a little silly.
Hello and thanks for having me.

I guess their must be people(weird as it seems) who have never heard of Dave Gilmore or Roger Waters or even the Pink Floyd. Might be mentioned on the news if one of them died tragically, I guess. Maybe the news in England didn't cover Roberts accident or untimely death in a motorcycle accident in the North west of Ireland. Fans of motorcycle sports would have heard of Robert Dunlop and his brother Joey who also did tragically in a motorcycle accident.
I guess I forget that whats big news here isn't always on the news over in England.
