We had a day trip out to see this exhibition yesterday and I personally came away a little disappointed due to the lack of 'major' artifacts'. However there is plenty to see and some of the pieces are stunning in their beauty and detail, you have to remember that the Egyptians had very little in the way of tools and the attention to detail is breath taking.
Although you can spend as much time as you like in the galleries you do feel that you are being a little pushed along, it was very busy yesterday though and the galleries where filling very quickly, we spent around an hour and a half in the galleries, which for me was enough.
After the exhibition you are then faced with the 'tacky' souvenir shop, that is full of plastic tat. If you have a spare £5000 then you could buy some of the jewellery that's on show
You are allocated a half hour slot to enter the exhibition, ours was between 12.30 and 13.00, although the bus took 5 and a half hours to get from Nottingham to The O2

, we did arrive at 12.30. As for the O2 I like it, plenty of places to eat (some very expensive), plenty to do for the young and old and just a short walk away from the river.
Is the exhibition worth the £20 ticket price?, well this depends how interested you are in the Egyptians history, for me I would say it's debatable, more major items would have been nice but the artifacts on show are amazing, to think some of these are 4000 years old and look like new is something, it cost us £55 each including the bus fare, so it was an expensive day but I feel worth it.
There is a strict no photography rule inside the exhibition, and I got the feeling that if you did try to take photo's the security guards that were everywhere would kick you out or take the camera off you, so not worth taking the risk.
