TOPIC: Windows Media Center

Windows Media Center 3 years, 11 months ago #1

I've used Windows Media Center for a couple of years as a back up to Sky, but I've just taken the plunge and ordered a dual digital tuner card (so I can record and watch at the same time), a Linksys Media Center extender, to stream from my PC to the TV and a 1TB hard drive so Mrs Nick can record 10 years worth of Corrie.

The plan is to cancel Sky, saving myself £40 a month, when I get it all working. Watch this space.

Nick, when you have it running successfully I trust that simple, easy to understand instructions for setting it up will follow for the benefit of the more technically challenged amongst us?

1. Build a PC
2. Spend 40 days in the wilderness searching for drivers
3. Get a man round to upgrade your aerial
4. To be continued ...

Right, that's sorted then. I fail at step 1.

When the freesat box with 80 hours of HD record space comes on the market (anytime now) my sky subscription will be cancelled and this HD box with the fan that never switches off, will be going in the bin, where it rightly belongs....what a piece of cheap tat.
