Blimey Lorna, that's a blast from the past.
40 years ago, when Mrs Mike and I were walking out, sometimes we used to go to late night cinema on a Saturday to see horror films. Grab a copy of the London Evening News Saturday morning, check out what's playing and where, and off we'd go. There was a small nucleus of London cinemas that ran these performances, usually the film started about 11-30pm. We'd go all over London to see them and many is the time we went to the Tooting Granada. If we were 'over the water' (north of the Thames) we used to stop at the all night tea bar outside the gates of Battersea Park, right by the power station, for some supper on the way home - usually about 2-00am. Thinking back, I must say I really knew how to treat a girl. ;D
