TOPIC: How can I remove songs off a DVDA?

How can I remove songs off a DVDA? 3 years, 9 months ago #1

Hi all, I need some help.

Over the past few weeks I have purchased two albums that have a bonus DVDA disc which includes the albums remixed in 5.1 along with extra tracks, lyrics, photos, etc.

Now I wouldn't normally bother, but the bonus tracks on these albums are fantastic and can't be found anywhere else other than on the DVDA's and I was wondering if there was any way that I could rip them onto my computer so that I can put them onto my mp3 player?

I know it is a long shot, but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Regards.

www.imtoo.com/

I got this from Nick some while ago. Certainly allows you to rip the audio off of DVD's

If the DVD is like the Porcupine Tree ones, then the 5.1 mix is DTS - in which case your PC will need the relevant decoder.
Do a google search for DTS to stereo conversion and you may find something of use.

If you succeed in doing this, let me know as it is something I'd want to do too.

OK , I've just had a play around with my Imtoo DVD audio ripping software which I own (Old version 1.0), I have the DVD-A version of DSOTM, that has 4.1 and DTS sound tracks. The Imtoo ripper will NOT let me rip DTS but will let me rip the 4.1 track, DTS is not normally a default format as not all DVD players can use it.  I have ripped many dvd's for audio with good results, I can recommend this software and the newer versions will probably do DTS.  You CANNOT rip SACD with it though, as these are a completely different ball game.

Hope this helps a little.
