As above, I'm getting totally pissed off with Sky and it's constant repeats and poor customer service, they wanted to charge me £60 one off fee to swap to their broadband, and I've been a customer of theirs for around 20 years since the old analogue days and had digital when it first came out :

They just don't care about loyal customers and will not offer any deal what so ever, so time to cancel. > Plus subscription is again rising £2 from Sep 1st for a load of horse crap >

You can pick up a FreeSat HD box for around £150, 6 months subscription to Sky+ and a one off payment (for now :)

Sorry for the rant

Sounds great, but the box only has one tuner, so you can't watch one channel and record another. I've just left Sky and replaced it with a Windows Media Center.

Nick, I love the way Sky+ works, it is very simple to use and reliable, but can no longer justify the stupid subscription charges for repeat after repeat> I know the FreeSat box has only one tuner and no recording facility but I'm sure I could come up with a PVR box that will record FreeSat. I do have a DVD recorder to hand as well.

Sound like good news that, cost around £200 so still viable considering Sky subscription charges.

I've also swapped broadband ISP today from Madasafish(connection problems are terrible), gone for the O2 deal because I use O2 as my mobile provider, so get 16mb broadband for a tenner a month ;D , same deal as sky without any connection fees and a free wireless modem/router.

I recently had a phone conversation with a helpful lady from freesat. She told me that a freesat+ hd recorder will be in the shops by the end of this month. It has a guide price of
