TOPIC: When we were young

When we were young 3 years, 9 months ago #1

Prompted by Andy's new avatar and Sue's suggestion that we should start a thread of old pics, I thought I'd start one. This is my 1973 passport photo.

As this topic was Sue's idea, I hope she's going to oblige with one of hers.

Here's one, the full photo from my avatar. To explain, cut and pasted from other thread:

'It's me... 17 years old about 1975/1976. I worked Saturday's for a furniture removals outfit, one day we had to unload a whole van load of dummies that the boss had bought for a new boutique he was involved with. The local paper thought it looked funny, their office was dead opposite, so asked if they could snap us for the local rag! Got some stick from my mates'.

I actually had two part time weekend and school/college holiday jobs, at school in the 6th form in the week. My other job was on Sundays, going off early on Sunday mornings to race tracks all over the country helping out as the 'odd job gofer' with a racing car team. Usually very knackered on the Monday morning at school, especially if I went to a gig or two over the weekend aswell!
But as I had somehow managed to stay on in the 6th form (and only register to study two subjects, art and history of art) it wasn't too bad as there were lots of free lessons each week, mostly spent skiving in the coffee shop listening to, or discussing Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin or Hawkwind with a couple of mates. Happy Dayz. And yes, that is my hair, not borrowed from a dummy! It got another foot or so longer then I had it cut off when I got a proper job after college.
