Today was going well until I came home and found out about Rick's death.
Once the news had sunk in, I flicked on the TV to catch up on the rest of the days stories, but the TV is playing up - after 20 mins the picture finally stabilizes, then 10 minutes later it switches itself off.
Not to worry, because my cheap (£1.99) Motorhead compilation CD finally arrived today but unfortunately my (cheapo) DVD system has refused to power up and has also died (presumably along with the TV), whether this was due to it feeling threatened by the thought of Lemmy or whether it was out of sympathy for Rick I cannot say.
So here I am surfing the internet, looking for a new DVD cinema system and hoping my TV comes back to life (I'm thinking the problem may be related to the cinema kit).
So what have I learned from all of this ?
I learned from the BBC that Rick wrote a number of songs including Summer '68 from Meddle, their first number one album.
Hoping for better journalism I headed to the Times website where underneath the article about Rick, I was provided with a link to 'purchase Pink Floyd tickets' !!
Yippee I thought, as out of curiosity I clicked on the link, causing my PC to hang for 5 minutes before Firefox finally crashed.
I think I'll go bed now.
