An unbelievably brilliant weekend. Fantastic cars and bikes...motorsport legends everywhere you looked, fantastic motor racing. If only Formula One was like this again.
Had a very quick chat with Nick and said how sorry I was to hear about Rick. He thanked me and said he was having a gtreat time at Goodwood nevertheless.
Nostalgia everywhere you looked. Whilst waiting to meet someone I clocked Nick on his way to the drivers club. At the entrance to it, Lord Marches organisers had set up a 'summer of love' cameo, old bus, flower power car, tent etc with a bunch of hippies playing guitars around a camp fire. This carried on for all three days!
Nick was stopped by someone near these 'hippies', chatting away when I noticed that the 'band' had noticed it was Nick, so stopped playing a Doors tune and started WYWH!
Nick eventually carried on but gave them a quick wave and a smile!
A very emotional lunchtime parade of famous cars and drivers and an address by Lord March, to remember Goodwood's lost heroes but also the servicemen from world war 2 who flew from the airfield, with Spitfire's flying overhead.
Some of my pics, including (as requested by Fossil Phil) Nick's 250 GTO and a shot of Nick's wife Annette and daughter Holly, who both race too:
