TOPIC: Is it me?

Is it me? 3 years, 7 months ago #1

I just saw on the news that a team of specialists at Liverpool University have been studying the effects of fuel depletion, and have come to the conclusion that one of the earliest impacts will be on transport.

Another earth shattering bulletin from the ministry of the bleeding obvious. Is it me? They have just spent about half a million quid of my hard earned money to tell me that my car won't go when the oil runs out.

I saw that as well, and was talking to the tele saying the same bloody thing!
A long the lines of ... NAH, you don't say!

Wish I could earn money for old rope like that!

Its a way of controlling the unemployment figures ? People go through university at great expense to gain what are often meaningless qualifications which render them to be unemployable ! These people are vacuumed up by national and local government departments and are paid well for performing totally pointless tasks
I have the misfortune to know a few people like this. They wouldn't last a week doing a proper job. Much  to the discredit of the current government there are hundreds of thousands of people of this category loafing around within the system.

Not to mention the fantastic pension schemes they get. Then they have the gaul to go on strike when there's a hole in their scheme! Who the F**K is gonna pay for the hole in my pension scheme ?? Certainly not the taxpayer like they expect.

My previous employer was on the same site as a Home Office department, it used to really piss me off when they were going on strike every few months for one reason or another, we were forever being picketed by the either the staff or some mass immigrant protest about deportations to Sierra Leone.

Anyway, rant over and back on topic. I'm so glad they pointed this out, I never realised my car would stop when it ran out of petrol, I'd better nip out to the petrol station to top the tank up now.

Thank God for that. I was worried it may have been beer running out first
Are we nearly there yet?

It's along the same lines as the allergy warning on the back of a packet of peanuts that says; May contain nuts.

No sh*t..... ;D
