I am having probs with my Norton anti-virus. Any recommendations for a good, free, alternative.

AVG is the daddy of free AV software:

free.avg.com/

Norton causes all sorts of problems.

Thanks Nick. Do I remove Norton before installing AVG or does it not matter.

I've been using AVG free for years now and have recently been having problems with it. It's been saying that it's out of date and when I go to update it it says there's no updates and that I'm all up to date! I uninstalled it on Tuesday and reinstalled the newer version and it's still the same thing.  Any ideas?

Deffo agree  with this post. Nortons caused too many problems for me and kept causing too many lock-ups. Once I got rid I installed AVG with no problems.

This was a genuine copy of Nortons in case you're wondering 

I use Avast and it works great for me. But I'm not the tech expert here that's for sure!
