Our washing machine gave up the ghost at weekend, the main computer PCB has gone, I did test it but the eprom is shot, £170 to repair

, it has lasted 9 years though.
So set about searching around for a new one, our local Comet was a waste of time as their prices seemed very expensive, I'd already done some research online so knew roughly what to pay for machine we wanted, comet was £50 more in-store than their own online price for the same machine:o
We then took a trip to Currys and spotted the machine we wanted at the same price as on the web, so set about arranging delivery and so on, but the final bill come to £20 MORE than the displayed price, I asked the shop assistant why and he said you have to pay for delivery when you buy in store and they deliver the goods quicker (Weds instead of Friday), buy on the web and delivery is FREE and they take away you old appliance as well, we can wait 2 days longer for the machine, he never mentioned anything about this charge so we cancelled the sale. He never offer to wave this charge either.
I have now ordered our new machine online, with no delivery charge from Currys, it's no wonder that shops are going to the wall when they do not offer the same service as their web based facility does.
