TOPIC: Nick Mason wins at Goodwood!

Nick Mason wins at Goodwood! 2 years, 8 months ago #1

Another excellent Goodwood Revival meeting. Well done to Nick Mason, winning the Brooklands Trophy race in his 1935 Aston Martin Ulster. His daughter Holly was also in the race in another of Nick's Astons. I'll post some pics here relating to musicians racing at the Revival, other pics will follow in another thread.

The Masons all look happy at Goodwood.
Nick, wife Annette, daughter Holly and her fiancee, Scottish racer Marino Franchitti (brother of Indycar racing star Dario ). The wedding is in November.

Marino was racing his future father-in-law's Ferrari 250GTO, worth millions. Sharing the car with journalist Mark Hales in the two driver one hour Tourist trophy race. Nick was team manager.

Spitfires overhead divert their attention. The Aston is the very car that Stirling drove at Goodwood 50 years ago to win the world sportscar championship for Aston Martin.

Genesis & Phil Collins' manager Tony Smith. A very wealthy guy and he races several cars including this lovely pre-war Grand Prix Alfa Romeo. A 1960 F1 Ferrari Dino and 1983 Williams F1 car are amongst many others in his stable.
