Absolutely no proof of ability or accomplishment required. Just become elected as President of the United States of America, spout a load of rhetoric, and you too could pick up the Nobel Peace Prize in less than a year!!

It helps if you follow in the footsteps of someone like Gunslinger Bush, but it's not compulsory. There is much precedence now for the demeaning of public office, what with the warmonger and liar Tony Blair about to become the President of the European Union, and Nero Gordon Brown fiddling us with stealth taxes and raids on our pensions while the UK plunges into bankruptcy and he becomes Statesman of the Year.

Overheard conversation in a toilet Friday night at a Servicemans Club . . .  spoken by two retired Naval officers.

"Did you see that, Obama won a peace prize?"

"What for, being black?"

"Maybe it's for dropping bombs on people?"
