TOPIC: The Beatles - Love album

The Beatles - Love album 5 years, 6 months ago #1

Just saw a feature on the news about the making of the new Beatles Love album, released next week. It's a labour of love by George Martin and his son Giles, who spent every day in Abbey Road for 2 years doing remixes from the masters. You can listen to it online at http://www.thebeatles.com/hearlove/index.php. The sound is incredible.

Ive just given this album a first listen through.
26 tracks The 5.1 sound makes it a very pleasing listen but at the same time its annoying because songs we all know so well have got the wrong tunes??
I will give it a few more listens before I decide if it works well or if it just a gimmick too far ?

I think a lot of people will "forgive" it because it's George Martin.

If anyone else had done this, it would be sacrilege.
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

Absolutely right. The songs were all his arrangements in the first place so with improvements in sound technology I suppose he is quite entitled to have a second go.
