Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes...

I'm putting together a cd for a friend as a Xmas prezzie.  It's a music compilation and most of the stuff is very straightforward, however, there are a couple of bits of music from a film - The Life Aquatic, where David Bowie songs are sung in Portuguese which I would like to add to the compilation.  My problem is that they are video of the chap singing.  Is there a way of downloading just the audio from the dvd onto a cd/hard drive?  Any help would be much appreciated, and apologies again if this is the wrong place to ask

You would have to rip an audio copy of the DVD using a piece of software.

I don't know the names of any such software myself but I know that Ben has a utility for doing such things.  Maybe he could point you in the direction of it ...

Larry, you're a star - is Ben around to ask? Is it easier if I mail him off board?  How's your USA planning going?

Well he's on MSN most days, so when he surfaces today I'll ask him for you if you like.

I don't know if he's going to be around much today.  I saw him last night and he may have plans for today but I'm not sure.

(Oh, and no further planning has been done ...)

Hello Skotch, I personally use Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0. for this.

I have used Imtoo DVD ripper in the past with great success. I'm not sure how it compares with Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 as I've not used it. I'm sure they're all pretty much the same.
