BRYAN FERRY
Bournemouth BIC, Wednesday 9th May 2007
So, 2 gigs, 2 nights same location - which was best?
Hmmmmmm, no brainer really TAPFS.
Now, Bryan Ferry £45.00 - TAPFS £24.50
Attendance: Bryan Ferry around 2,500 - TAPFS around 3,500 (rough estimates)
Scores: Bryan Ferry 7.5/10 - TAPFS 9/10
A good gig and lots got up and danced right at the front of the stage (me included). What was interesting, as I had forgotten about the connection, was the bass player. Hold on I said, that's Larry's favourite bass player coming on Guy Pratt! I had forgotten that he has done quite a bit of work with Bryan and Roxy Music. I gave him a grin and shouted hi Guy, which was returned with a grin. Those that remember may recall I met him last year pre Gilmour at the RAH and he let slip those nuggets that I posted about changes to the show each night.
Ferry was OK, but what was very dissappointing was that he was reading the lyrics! What's that about.......... he didn't even know the band member names and was reading them off a sheet taped to the floor! Apart from that, it was a very tight performance from the band, who were superb and a really good atmosphere. It was also proof about the north south audience thing. It must be the band playing, because tonight loads were singing, clapping and dancing.
I'm not sure if Guy remembered me, but he smiled a few times and gave me his set-list at the end of the show. So here it is..............

'All Along the Watchtower' was especially good, as were 'Let's Stick Together' and 'Love is the Drug'
