TOPIC: Glastonbury 2007

For those of you who can see the BBC's coverage, what do you think so far? I liked The Fratellis and some guy with short trousers and red socks (if you saw him you'd know who I mean). Ah, the memories ...
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think...

I like watching Glastonbury on telly, I especially like seeing acts that I've never heard of before, like Gogol Bordello, a sort of eastern European gypsy punk  band, - rather entertaining.

I saw Arctic Monkeys' set; they played really well - very tight.  They are good in short bursts but become a bit samey after about 3 songs.
I've only seen them show 2 Arcade Fire songs, I hope that they show more as I like them.

I watched Kasabian (we're all wasting away) - great stuff.  Then Amy Winehouse - bloody awful - there's something i just dont like about that woman ! her music/style does absolutely nothing for me.  She spent 20 minutes introducing her 'band' - i thought she was unprofessional and tacky.   >

I saw a man from Sky News standing in a field interviewing hippies.
Be very very careful what you put into that head, because you will never ever get it out. Thomas Cardinal Wolsey (1471-1530)

Hi Enigma,

Totally agree with your point about the Arctic Monkeys being a bit samey. Arcade Fire were certainly something different in contrast. I will try to hear something from Neon Bible.

Arctic Monkeys were very tight, their drummer has a very small kit compared to most bands, but he kept cracking time. - size does not matter

Neon Bible is rather good, but Funeral is better in my opinion - each take a few listens to get under your skin so don't dismiss them too quickly. Borrow them first, then purchase later  (I've posted loads of links to videos in the "what's everyone listen to?" thread)

The Kooks are on now, the Aussie/Kiwi presenter on the Beeb introcuced them by saying this is their first debut Glastonbury performance  :, Think I'll miss the second debut.
