The download appears to have been delayed again.  There's a news item that says something along the lines that the big companies have NOT signed an Agreement to allow their music to be shared
Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity

I did read about this in a newspaper?
I should really know by now not to take anything on trust?
The launch page for Qtrax has vanished !!
Later the same day...........
Do I now understand the position regarding this story ? The big 4 main record companies gave verbal approval for the go ahead of this scheme then at the last minute refused to sign a formal undertaking.
A brilliant  business strategy,no doubt at all why these sodding companies are loosing money hand over fist >

This is now becoming just a bit of a farce?
There is more of a story in The Times today about this not happening than there was with yesterdays piece.
If you are going to cock -up then you may as well do it in style. Qtrax spent half a million quid at the weekend to launch a download service that isn't going to happen.....way to go chaps, full marks for optimism.
The major four record companies are Warner,Sony bmg, EMI and,and ,and,oh  Ive forgoten. Who cares.

The rest of the world has responded magnificently to the new opportunities brought by the internet. The music industry has stuck it's head up its arse and sees it as yet another threat, instead of working out new business models to expoit it. They thought the cassette tape was going to put them out of business 40 years ago, and now they're blaming the web for their lack of management skills.
